In over 40 trips to Bali, and having stayed at many of the top hotels/resorts, this is probably the best hotel/villas we have stayed at. The cottage itself, surrounding gardens, and the beautifully landscaped pool area made this property a true oasis in the middle of Kuta’s hustle and bustle. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. A short walk to many great restaurants, Poppies included, Kuta beach and shopping. We couldn’t recommend this amazing property highly enough.

Certainly it's my favourite place in Kuta. It's an oasis of relaxation, beautiful nature and high level of service. I visited this hotel two times and 100% I would come here again. The territory is very beautiful, pool is a real masterpiece ❤️ very comfortable bungalows with everything what you can be in need during vacation (teapot, tea and coffee sets, fridge, local gel, shampoo, also there is even an umbrella in every bungalow). Everyday cleaning. The staff is amazing, helpful and hospitable. No doubts - they can help you with any questions or problem. I want to notice, that it's one of the few places in Bali which provides you free transfer from and to the airport. Hotel has its own restaurant with delicious food, drinks. Breakfasts are cooked there and served at your veranda every morning - amazing! Breakfast very tasty and various. Location - perfect as well. You can get the Kuta beach quickly (7 minutes walk). Shopping mall, cafes, supermarkets, spa salons and laundries - near the hotel. Highly recommended!!!

This was a four month round the world trip. Poppies was the BEST place I stayed in. Located in a lane (named after the accommodation), so a really quiet location, but just five minutes walk into the centre of Kuta and ten minutes to the seafront. Numerous cafes, restaurants, bars and shops within a short walk. A collection of bungalows set in extensive lush gardens. Spacious room, very comfortable, outside seating area. Large and very attractive, and ornate, bathroom. Everything in the bungalow, and the site, done to perfection. They have a restaurant just along the lane, which predates the accommodation. Good breakfast, either in your room (preorder in the evening), or in the restaurant. Swimming pool in the garden, a focal point. Friendly and helpful staff. They can organise transport and tours.

The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. Poppies I is a little Oasis right in the heart of Kuta. I visited here many years ago with my family when our boys were young and we loved the pool then. I loved as much this time around. The tropical landscaping all around the pool was beautiful... Also the room is in your own thatched roof cottage with a high ceiling made of natural materials, Bali-style. It is very nicely appointed, and pretty, and the door to the bathroom takes you to your indoor/outdoor bathroom, where natural light and rain can fall through in a certain area, bringing the tropical vibes into your bathroom area. The interior design is beautiful, comfortable and functional. I had breakfast included, and I had the choice to have it delivered to. my outside patio, in front of my front door, or to go to the lovely Poppies Restaurant. I chose to eat on my own patio, which was lovely. The entire vibe is one of tropical Peace and Bliss. I would skip Ubud next time and stay at Poppies longer, 5-7 days would be ideal.

This is the second time I stayed here, because I simply love this place: the tranquility of the beautiful garden, nice cottages, delicious breakfast and very friendly and service focused staff. When i arrived, I found a bouquet in my cottage with a card saying ‘welcome back’, so sweet and attentive! Last year I had a cottage in the middle of the garden, but this year I initially had one at the end (I booked last-minute so it was the last one available), far away from the alley so very private but unfortunately facing a wall, which I felt was a bit depressing and uninspiring. Luckily someone checked out after my first night so I was able to move to a cottage facing the garden.

Poppies is a gorgeous peaceful haven with long-established gardens and facilities in the middle of Kuta chaos. It was raining the entire time we were there so apart from one quick dip in the lovely pool we didn’t get to enjoy lounging poolside. We were sharing a room with our teenage daughter which didn’t give us much space inside however the little outdoor sitting area was a nice place for a morning coffee and an afternoon sundowner. It’s walking distance to the Beachwalk shopping centre and also to Discovery Shopping Centre and WaterBom, although it’s a little further to the latter two. Also very close to Kuta Beach. We normally stay in Sanur but I have long wanted to stay at Poppies (since the 1990’s). We loved the staff and the food. Nasi Goreng for brekkie: yum! If being close to shopping and Waterbom is a priority we thoroughly recommend Poppies. This “old Bali” at its best.

Nice to have someone waiting at the airport to take us there. We loved the feeling of seclusion within the confines of the property. Loved the restaurant and the property during the day, when we could see things. Very nice staff and a good value for the money

The property is amazing, just like the reviews say. It is an oasis on Poppies Lane, along with the restaurant over the road. The pool is fabulous to lounge around all day, with Kuta Beach only a short 5-10 minute walk down the road, where there is also a shop for water and snacks. The room is large and well equipped, with the lovely outside bathroom too.

Poppies lived up to our expectations and beyond. Stayed for 10 nights in August and absolutely loved the hotel. Extremely clean, staff excellent, helpful. Hotel grounds a paradise away from bustling Kuta. Fantastic swimming pool and surrounding gardens with pool bar and library. Poppies Restaurant 50 metres away supplied included breakfast, meals could not be faulted whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. Fantastic staff at Poppies Restaurant, lovely garden surroundings. We visited this restaurant first in 1980, still does not disappoint.

They present themselves as 3-star, but they offer a lot more than that. Obviously it's not suitable for those looking for a 5-star resort experience, but it is perfect for those looking for a more authentic accommodation for a fair price and right in the center of Kuta. The road to the hotel is a bit mad: extremely narrow and with scooters and cars fighting for space with pedestrians. Be mindful of that when booking tours and arranging pick up. The rooms are quite dark, but comfortable. Furniture is old, but well maintained. Air conditioning works perfectly and they provide free water. The staff is extremely friendly. Breakfast is very well served and tasty. The free shuttle to the airport is a also a great treat. The swimming pool is beautiful and it was not very busy when we were there. It was perfect to relax. The internet works in a weird way and you need to keep the TV on at all times if you want to have wifi in the room. Wifi signal is ok, but probably not great for someone who needs to work remotely. Overall this was a great stay and we would definitely return/recommend.
